In the year 1905, the owner and Cellar Master of our company married a charming Cognac girl named Odette Villard, to whom he dedicated one of his best blends, so was born the now famous Maquis de Villard Brandy.
The Marquis de Villard is distilled from carefully selected French wines, then aged in oak wood, which gives it its amber colour and mellow flavour and taste.

History:
Our cellars were established in 1852 in the South West of France, in a peaceful country crossed by the river Charente; here, the hills are covered
with vineyards. In the center of this region, our family has been managing the Villard's house for three generations.
Production:
MARQUIS DE VILLARD VSOP is produced from Carignan, Grenache, Cabernet and Merlot grapes picked in Southern France. Whether by
traditional hand-picked harvest or use of modern means, everything is done with one aim in mind: to get an irreproachable quality. Once the grapes are
gathered, the carts make their way to the wine press and, after fermentation, the grape juice becomes a golden wine from which one will draw the quintessence.
The VILLARD's wine is then distilled in the beautiful copper pot stills: the liquid collected from this distillation will give the precious Eau-de-Vie.
VILLARD BRANDY is then aged in Limousin oak barrels; the essences of this wood enrich the unique flavour and impart its golden colour.
In the favourable conditions of dim cellars, the Cellar Master’s part is crucial in the make up of the final product: he keeps a close eye on the ageing, he calculates the alcoholic strength and prepares the subtle blends.
Occasions:
VILLARD BRANDY VSOP can be enjoyed as a digestive or an aperitive, neat or with water, on the rocks or in cocktail. It is also quite suited for gourmet
cooking.
Tasting notes:
The smell is warm and toasty with a touch of earthiness, and then there are aromas of baked apples and vanilla. Very elegant blend of many eaux-de-vie, aged in oak barrels for a long time. On the tongue, the brandy is balanced and smooth, offering a range of flavours from butterscotch to oak, pear, dark chocolate and even a hint of maple sugar.
Alcoholic strength: 40% alc/vol.
Ageing: at least one year, in oak wood.
